Savanna Flakes, Ed.S; PMC

CEO and Lead Consultant

Savanna Flakes has taught a variety of subjects and grades around the world. Savanna is an educational consultant specializing in inclusion, special education, social emotional learning, and literacy. Her prior instructional leadership roles include Manager of Professional Learning, Master Educator, Technology Integration Specialist and Inclusion Instructional Specialist; coaching administrators and teachers on effective inclusive and instructional practices. Savanna has served as a professor in the American University School of Education and Health, and she presents nationally on topics such as differentiation, literacy, co-teaching, universal design for learning, and inclusion. Savanna has received the following awards and honors: TEDx Speaker; Keynote Speaker for Office State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) Inclusive Schools Week; National Board Certified Teacher (NBPTS); International Education Technology Standards for Students (ISTE); Google Certified Innovator; Who’s Who Among American Teachers; Sontag Prize in Urban Education Award; National Association of Special Education Teachers Outstanding Special Educator Award; Education Pioneers Fellowship; Power 30 under 30: Community Service Recipient and Champion of Excellence for Teaching.  As an education consultant, Savanna has worked with hundreds of school communities to build teacher leaders and provide effective instructional practices for students with exceptionalities.  

 

Haley Guglielmi

Haley Guglielmi has been reaching students and educators through innovative and purposeful lessons and professional learning for over 15 years. As a passionate advocate for students with disabilities she specializes in empowering educators to create rigorous learning environments for diverse student populations. Haley received her M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Florida and has pursued her dream of providing quality inclusive education to students with disabilities in Florida, Maryland and Virginia. Currently, she is a Teacher Leader in Chicago Public Schools where she provides modeling, coaching and professional learning on effective instructional pedagogy for teachers. Haley prides herself on supporting educators with implementing co-teaching and differentiation strategies, as well as providing schools and teachers with the strategies they need to serve students with severe disabilities in inclusive classrooms.

Nicole Barrion

Nicole Barrion has been in the educational field for over 20 years, supporting children and teachers by utilizing engaging and differentiated techniques. Her passion and dedication to supporting all learners stems from growing up with a sibling on the Autism spectrum. She earned her Early Childhood Education degree at Virginia Tech, starting her teaching career as a classroom teacher in elementary school. Recognizing her devotion to meet the needs of all students, she earned her M. Ed. in Special Education from the University of Virginia. She has worked in co-taught classrooms since her first year, committed to ensuring all students are challenged to their fullest potential and are successful. Currently she enjoys her role as an Inclusion Specialist for Alexandria City Public Schools. Nicole works directly with students, and supports teachers with co-teaching, differentiation, and inclusive practices through coaching, modeling, and professional learning. Additionally she continues to support administrators and schools with forward momentum on their journey of inclusive practices. Nicole’s greatest reward is empowering others to enhance their instructional practice.

Allison Voeller MacMahon

Allison Voeller MacMahon has been a special education teacher for over 20 years with Alexandria Public Schools in Alexandria, VA. She has worked with K-12 students with learning and emotional and behavioral disabilities. For the last ten years she has worked as an Inclusion and Autism Specialist for the district. She serves on the local board for the Miracle League of Alexandria which provides accessible sports to people with disabilities. Allison has also taught internationally in Europe. Her passion and desire to share her knowledge about working with people with disabilities has been the continuing force in the important work she completes daily.
